Taken from a depth of 1,107 m, the waters of the thermal center Termas de San Nicanor emanate at 45 °C. The average temperature in the pools is 37 °C and the maximum temperature reached is 40 °C. This crystal clear waters are ideal for those seeking the healing benefits of thermal water as well as for those simply seeking a warm pool for swimming and fun.
The complex is located in the Department of Paysandu, about 20 km from Salto and 10 km from Dayman thermal spring. Surrounded by green fields and inside has four lakes that give the place a touch more natural, plus the chance to go fishing.
Private investment in the complex are doing it to grow in importance and quality of services. For this reason, the Baths of San Nicanor will soon positioned at the same level as other nearby resorts such as Termas de Dayman, Guaviyú or Arapey.
The area is huge, so you can enjoy long walks and horseback ride inside it. Getting There
With your own vehicle, from Montevideo, take Route 1, then Route 3 and finally the "Camino Tierra Colorada", which is marked as an entry point to the thermal area. By bus from Terminal Tres Cruces in Montevideo, it should address a bus to Salto. The fact is that there is not much transportation to the area, so it is best to go by car.
Accommodation
An interesting option is the campground.
