Fray Bentos is a town that has recently become well known for hosting the largest pulp factory in Uruguay. The purpose of this guide is to make known some of the qualities not so mentioned.

It has a beautiful promenade, which together with the beautiful view, combines the tranquility of the River Uruguay. Following the promenade we find a place that has a beautiful architecture. Vegetation and even a river views are connected to give a pleasant sense of peace. But in search of a bit of history we went to the area where the old Anglo meat-processing plant, where nowadays works the Museum of Industrial Revolution. I did not expect to find a place so shocking. Besides a really picturesque landscapes, damaging and stunning, is the museum of Anglo industrial plant. This meat plant was even 40,000 employees and was one of the largest in the world. It was mainly devoted to the production of meat extract and corned beef. With these products, Fray Bentos became the world's kitchen in times of war in Europe. Its architecture has aabout 140 years old and over its walls is outlined the deterioration of years, gigantic walls that housed the old machinery, that at that time were the latest technology. In this meat processing plant was turned on the first electric bulb in this country and was wrote the first words typed with machine in the department.
